Job Coach/Employment Specialist
The three main roles of a job coach are:
- Transportation: Picking up the individual and driving them to their job site or work development site and taking them back home (ACE reimburses mileage).
- Support: Caring for the person’s specific behavioral and sometimes physical needs that are required for them to access community employment.
- Coaching: Using encouragement, positivity and empathy to empower the person to do their best at achieving their own success at work and in life.
Work Hours and Benefits
- Benefits: Health, dental, and life insurance are available as a full-time Arrowhead Community Employment employee (32 hours/week)
- $500 signing bonus
- Hours: 15-40 hours/week
- Starting Wage: $18-$20 per hour
Must have:
- Driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle with insurance
- High-school diploma or GED
Direct Support Professional
The three main roles of a Direct Support Professional are:
- Support: Caring for the person’s specific medical needs that are required for them to live a high quality of life and access to the community.
- This may include: medication administration, operating wheelchair, assistance with personal hygiene, assistance with lifts
- Transportation: Driving the person to community activity sites, appointments, home visits, ACE events, etc.
- Coaching: Using encouragement, positivity and empathy to empower the person to fulfill their own goals and dreams for their lives.
